Then one night at an open mic in San Francisco, she performed her first original song “Low”—and a stranger posted a video of it to Reddit. It hit #1 on r/sanfrancisco—over 800 upvotes, dozens of comments from people who’d never heard her name. “What a great damn voice and stage presence.” “Getting some Amy Winehouse vibes.” “She is giving you Billie Holiday incarnate.”
